We are scaling the product & technology organization and are looking for an experienced engineering manager to coach digital supply chain and distribution teams in Amsterdam. You will report directly to the Head of Digital Supply Chain Engineering. As an engineering manager at FUGA, you support the individuals in the team, including technical leads and engineers, and ensure everyone is connected to the goals and efforts of the company.
Lead and mentor engineers, including technical leads, through regular 1:1s, advice on career growth, and feedback on technical aspects of performance
Partner with other Heads of Engineering and Chief Architect to strive for technical excellence, and move our tech stack forward
Facilitate technical discussions on software architecture, code reviews, CI/CD, debt, refactoring, testing, etc.
Play a key role in hiring, onboarding, and retaining great engineers
Advocate and advance effective software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering processes and organizational practices
Partner with Product Managers and Head of Delivery to plan and sequence realistic roadmaps for the teams that marry new features, technical improvements, and day-to-day support needs of our products and their underlying components
In order for you to thrive in this role, we believe that you:

Have at least 3 years of experience managing multiple software engineering teams as a people manager combined with 8 years of experience as a software engineer
Have a history of building software engineering teams from one to multiple teams
Promote transparency, facilitate information flow, and align your team with the organization’s goals
Are passionate about building great products that people love, and you always make technology choices with this end goal in mind
Solid understanding of modern architecture (modular, event-driven systems) as well familiarity with legacy systems
Hands-on experience ideally with Java, and/or Ruby and/or Node.js
Have solid knowledge of cloud infrastructure and technologies
