Product Manager (Data)

Job description

As a Data Product Manager for FUGA, you will be responsible for delivering incredible value to our customers, who represent some of the most culturally significant record labels, distributors and management companies in the music industry. We empower those customers with a full suite of products to run their digital business, including content ingestion, catalogue management, supply chain, analytics and royalty reporting solutions. FUGA is the leading technology partner for the independent music business, and we’re looking for people who are genuinely excited to help solve these complex problems with us.


To give an idea of the scale at which we operate, our platform is responsible for delivering ~30% of all content uploaded to Spotify; that’s tens of thousands of tracks each day. Average 270M report lines per day processed from a total of 256 direct DSP connections across 9 DSPs for 84 organizations.


In your role, you will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Designers and our expert FUGA business teams to shape and deliver features, craft a compelling roadmap and articulate a clear vision. Your area of focus will be our Trends & Analytics product.

What will I be doing?


  • Engage with stakeholder groups including internal label clients, cross-functional team leads, operations, and marketing to capture business requirements

  • Work with the engineering team to translate business requirements into user stories and technical requirements that will be used for delivery using an agile approach

  • Deeply know the problems that you’re tackling through research and regular interaction with customers (internal and external); define and frame those problems for the team

  • Structure broad and complex solutions into manageable pieces that are aligned to phasing determined by business needs, including incremental rollout plans and iterative releases

  • Manage roadmaps for various audiences (e.g. executives, commercial teams, development teams, etc.) that capture high-level business objectives, program-level initiatives & solutions, customer-oriented features, and architectural views

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of all aspects of FUGA’s Data platform including:
    • DSP Sources (Spotify, Amazon, YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer etc.)

    • Data (ETL) Pipeline

    • Data Dashboard

    • Analytics API Service

  • Provide tailored communication to multiple stakeholder groups covering a broad range of information, including:
    • Roadmaps & platform direction

    • Release notes on platform updates

    • Project/sprint level status updates and risks

  • Collaborate with your team in thinking big, to imagining future solutions that solve these problems

  • Develop and employ quantitative and qualitative measures to evaluate the effectiveness of our solutions, both in MVP state and after full release

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years combined experience in product development and building and specifying data applications ideally in the music industry or a related digital domain ( e.g. streaming, entertainment, publishing, subscription businesses)

  • Data analytics background with a demonstrated ability to translate business needs into creative and engaging output.

  • Working knowledge of business intelligence/reporting tools such as Google Data Studio and Tableau with related experience analyzing data as well as writing queries and reports.

  • Proficiency with software development methodologies such as Agile and experience working with Scrum teams

  • Experience with Agile software development tools such as Jira or other Agile reporting tools

  • Demonstrated capabilities in technical-oriented business analysis techniques and user acceptance testing processes/methodologies in large, complex, diversified, global organizations.

  • Recent involvement in the day-to-day tasks of the user acceptance testing process.

  • Ability to interpret requirement documents and update test documents accordingly.
