The Trends team is looking for a strong senior software/data engineer having solid experience in the complete SDLC that can help grow and evolve their proprietary data processing infrastructure. The team is responsible for the daily retrieval, processing, analysis and publishing of insights on large volumes of music performance data coming from several popular digital service providers. The team manages large Google BigQuery datasets and has an overall data footprint of over half a PetaByte. All microservices are containerized and hosted in either a local data center or in Google Cloud.
As part of the Trends team, you will be:
Creating, deploying and improving high performance back-end services in Java and Kotlin
Performing analysis on data, software and running processes
Writing, analysing and improving complicated database queries
Developing anomaly detection methodologies
Monitoring system health and fixing errors
Developing and interfacing with APIs
You are based in the Netherlands
Java/Kotlin engineer - senior for at least 5 years
Spring/Spring Boot/Spring cloud experience - 5 years
Designing and building microservices - 5 years
*Nix skills - 5 Years experience
Docker + Kubernetes - 3 Years
Expert level SQL skills and familiarity with a wide range of database implementations
Strong foundation with Cloud services (GCS preferential)
Very good knowledge of API development
Strong background in inter-process communications (RESTful services and message queues)
Good understanding of functional programming
Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
Nice-to-have: Data Science, Python or other, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible), Apache-Spark or Data processing tech, Database Management and optimization
NOTE: NOTE: For this role we are only considering people that are based in Amsterdam/Randstad area. Due to Corona we will not relocate from abroad/EU. We will be able to provide sponsorship to those already in possession of a HSM Visa in the Netherlands.
