Technical Product Manager (API & Webhooks) - London

Job description

As a Technical Product Manager for FUGA, you will be responsible for delivering incredible value to our customers, who represent some of the most culturally significant record labels, distributors and management companies in the music industry.

We empower those customers with solutions and services to run their digital business, including content ingestion, catalogue management, supply chain, analytics and royalty reporting. FUGA is the leading technical partner for the independent music industry, and we’re looking for someone who is genuinely excited to help solve these complex problems with us.

In this role, you will own our API & Webhooks products and be responsible for ensuring they meet the needs of our most technically-minded partners, who rely on them to create and deliver releases, manage their catalogue, receive real-time delivery notifications and synchronise data with internal/third party systems.

We expect to see continued growth in this customer segment, so it’s critical that these products are highly performant, feature rich and well understood by our users and the internal teams who manage onboarding and integration support. The ideal candidate for this role will have successfully managed a similar product over its full lifecycle, from creation to retirement.

What will I be doing?

  • Manage the API & Webhooks roadmap and its delivery to unlock incremental value for users of these products over multiple quarters.

  • Lead on the discovery work for this area: develop a detailed understanding of how our customers use these products to facilitate deep integration with their own systems, identify gaps and opportunities.

  • Structure broad and complex solutions into manageable pieces that are aligned to phasing determined by business needs, including incremental rollout plans and iterative releases

  • Work with the engineering team to translate these requirements into user stories and technical requirements that will be used for delivery using an agile approach.

  • Partner with the Core Platform team to help define requirements for our API Gateway and assist product teams in migrating their APIs to the new infrastructure.

  • Work with product and engineering teams to define best practice around API versioning and sunsetting, and liaise with customer-facing teams to coordinate migration projects and communication plans in line with these policies.

  • Develop and employ quantitative and qualitative measures to evaluate the effectiveness of our solutions, both in MVP state and after full release.

Requirements

  • You have 5 years experience as a Product Manager or Technical Product Manager, and have managed customer-facing API and/or Webhooks products. Even better, you have gained this experience in the music industry or a related digital domain (e.g. streaming, entertainment, publishing, subscription businesses). Alternatively, you could be an experienced Solutions Architect or API Engineer looking to transition to a Product role.

  • You have the ability to define clear product objectives, roadmaps, requirements, priorities and deliverables.

  • You have an aptitude for understanding, digesting and analysing complex systems integrations, and can explain them to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • You’ve got excellent interpersonal and communication skills, user understanding and empathy.

  • You have experience with agile product development techniques and continuous, incremental development philosophies and practices for speed to market.

  • You love well written documentation and take great pride in delivering release notes and presentations to your stakeholders.
